Abstract

In the production of heat-resistant nickel alloy foundries, it is extremely important to control the contents of harmful impurities, especially sulfur. In this work, the determination of sulfur in nickel alloys by high resolution mass spectrometry with a glow discharge, which eliminates spectral interference, is carried out. The selection of analysis conditions is given. The correctness of the results is confirmed by the analysis of certified standard samples of nickel alloys. The sulfur detection limits are 0,000003% by mass. The range of determined concentrations is 0,000016–0,0401% by mass, and the relative standard deviation does not exceed 0,05.
