Ways of increasing corrosion resistance of superalloys (review)
Ni-based superalloys are widely used in the aviation, energy and nuclear industries. They are used in conditions of high temperatures, stresses and corrosive medium, which is why the issue of oxidation resistance is actual. The article describes the results of recent studies aimed at increasing the corrosion resistance of high-temperature Ni-based alloys. Traditionally, the issue of increasing corrosion resistance is solved by a variation in the chemical composition. Elements such as aluminum and chromium contribute to the formation of a complex oxide film on the metal surface. This has a beneficial effect on the operational characteristics of the alloy. When analyzing the literature data, the results of studies carried out by the authors on intermetallic alloys were confirmed: doping of alloys with refractory elements such as Mo and Re has a negative effect on the corrosion resistance.
