Abstract
This is a study of the effect of the gas permeability of the skin and honeycomb core of three-layer panels on the value of the heat release characteristics during combustion (the maximum heat release rate and the total amount of heat released during the first 2 minutes of the test). The study demonstrates that the presence of perforations of the skin or honeycomb can lead to a significant decrease in the recorded heat release characteristics due to a smoother exit of combustible thermal decomposition products from the internal volume of the three-layer panel.
