Abstract

The article presents the study results of the effect, which laboratory-simulated exposure to elevated temperatures from 280 to 350 °C has on the structure and properties of high-temperature carbon fiber plastics based on polyimide binders and carbon fillers from bundles from various manufacturers. The strength characteristics, i.e. bending and interlayer shear, density, glass transition temperature and mass loss of carbon plastics after exposure to elevated temperatures has been determined. Microstructural studies of the carbon fiber surface have been carried out and the microphase composition of the binder has been determined.
